I love nothing better than putting on a backpack or jumping in a canoe for months at a time. Here are my Top Ten Travel Quotes, with comments.

- “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” – Lao Tzu – (This came to mind while watching my ride drive away just before starting my thru-hike. You’re a long way from home son, so start walking.)
- “People travel to faraway places to watch, in fascination, the kind of people they ignore at home.” – Dagobert D. Runes – (More true than I care to admit.)
- “A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.” – John Steinbeck – (Smart man, that Steinbeck guy. One of my favorite books is Travels with Charley.)
- “For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” – Robert Louis Stevenson – (The best trail is the one between your ears.)
