You&#039;re spot on. Staying out of towns is the #1 key to pulling off a cheap trip. Congrats on doing it on $800! That&#039;s incredible!
I wouldn&#039;t change my trip for anything, but I could probably do it for less than half of what I spent the first time. That expense was always hanging over me, and really put a damper on things at times.

I thru&#039;d the AT in 2005 on 800 dollars, including gear. That&#039;s pretty dang cheap for the best few months of your life.</description>
