I have had the itch so bad lately to get back out there! In 2006 I thru hiked the Appalachian Trail. Once I finished I told myself that I would do something life changing every 5 years. That being said I have chosen to follow your footsteps. Your website has been a big part in my inspiration. In 2011 I am planning a kayak trip down the mighty Mississippi as well. If you guys could please give me a few pointers of where to begin it would be very, very appreciated. Map local, gear, hot spots, water sources(did you drink from the Mississippi?) Possible sponsorship connections, camping, HELP! I am planning early to give me time to research a cause. I did the AT for me and now this one is for someone special to me.
