Just a quick note from the river. I’m finally underway and ready to get to paddlin’ onthe Neuse! www.SourcetoSea.net Thanks for all the support and emails. I really do appreciate it. Here’s hoping that Hurricane Danny stays out to sea for a bit. I like to apologize to the entire eastern seaboard ahead of time, because I ALWAYS have some funky weather swirling around me when I’m on an extended trip.
More details will be coming as we work out the dates and times, but plan on a public paddling event in New Bern sometime on Labor Day Weekend. My thanks to the Twin Rivers Paddling Club for their efforts.
Later ya’ll,

John had a great first day. He sent a text and let me know he thinks he went about 23 miles in the first day.
Today, John will pass into Johnston County on his way toward the Neuse’s passing through Smithfield.
The guidebook says that John wil be hemmed in by a lot of poison ivy and should see remnants of an old dam, a private covered bridge, and some low-water rock ledges.
Have a great day, John!
