John, I like cover 2. Its soothing, the composition is nice and the framing colors very, very good. I grew up on the Mississippi. Thanks for your conversation work. We don’t want the world turning these last small islands of piece and beauty into a sewer. I fear it may be too late for the Old Man. Jim:)
Cover 2
I like cover 3 because it is light and tranquil.
Hey John,
I like cover two also. I’ve seen lots of shots like cover 3 and I do like how the green in the kayak pops but cover two is well composed.
Thanks JD. It’s about a 3-way tie right now, but I’m not saying anything until Monday!
It was fun coming up with some different looks for this thing. I may end up doing different covers for the book, ebook, and DVD every year or two if it stays this close.
About 200 people have voted so far – keep them coming!

I agree. Cover #2 is my favorite. I can almost hear the birds chirping as I look at that photo!
Thanks Lynn. It’s a really tight right now between 3 of the covers, with one bringing up the rear. I think it’s going to come down to the last day. Thanks for the input!
I don’t like any of them. Take the whole trip over and take more pictures! Just kidding. I agree with what I’ve seen so far, go with cover 2. Will your book be available at GOPC? Is it a photo album or will you have stories and share your experiences?
Mitch
Mitch,
I absolutely agree – I really need to take another trip soon and take more pictures! (Thinking about going down the Haw or Roanoke River this year)
I’ve got to firm things up formally, but GOPC should be on board to carry the book. This book will be the first of a 3-part series of photobooks on the Neuse, Cape Fear, and Mississippi River expeditions. They’ll be heavy on photos, but will have some journal excerpts and links to all the podcasts taken on the trip. I’m also including a short appendix of web resources, gear lists, and that sort of thing.

My vote is for cover 1, but only because I’m not a fan of the Papyrus font. Otherwise I still like cover 2 which mentions “Source to Sea” and encourages future editions.
