Hey I was wondering abou any complications of paddleing down the river I’d be launching out of councill bluffs Iowa and going where the river takes me if youve done it before id like to hear about it. Thanks. Nice website btw

You’d have to deal with getting through the locks (and pools) until you get below St Louis, but it’s open river below that. I’d recommend checking out the Atchafalaya River as a possible option to the Gulf of Mexico as well. We loved it, and would probably go that route again. Mileage is about the same, but it’s a much more mellow river to collect your thoughts on.
